Understanding compressed sofas

  • What is a compressed sofa?

A full-size sofa vacuum-packed into a smaller volume for shipping. Open the packaging and the sofa gradually recovers its intended shape.
  • Is a compressed sofa the same as a sofa in a box?

Usually, but not always. “Sofa in a box” describes compact delivery. A compressed sofa specifically uses vacuum packing to reduce volume.
  • Is it the same as a flat-pack sofa?

No. Flat-pack sofas arrive as separate rigid parts. Compressed sofas reduce the volume of the upholstered body. Some designs use both methods.
  • How does a compressed sofa work?

Air is removed from the foam during packing. Once opened, air returns and the sofa recovers. The process varies by model and material.

Comfort and everyday use

  • Are compressed sofas comfortable?

They can be. Comfort comes from the foam, support, proportions and upholstery—not the size of the shipping box.
  • Does compression damage the sofa?

Not when the sofa is designed, packed and stored correctly. Material quality and compression control are what protect its recovery.
  • Are compressed sofas durable?

Durability depends on the foam, internal support, stitching, fabric and daily use. Compression alone does not determine lifespan.
  • Can I use one every day?

Yes, when the model is designed for regular seating. Choose the firmness, depth and construction around how the sofa will be used.
  • What are the disadvantages?

Recovery takes time, and an opened sofa cannot normally be returned to its original carton. Some compressed designs also offer fewer mechanical functions.

Delivery, unboxing and recovery

  • How are the sofas packed?

Each sofa is protected, vacuum-compressed and placed in an export carton. Packed size and weight depend on the model.
  • How long does recovery take?

It depends on the model, foam, temperature and packing duration. Follow the supplied instructions and allow the full recommended time before judging the shape.
  • Can I use it immediately?

Let it recover first. Some models may allow light use earlier, but final comfort and appearance should only be judged after full recovery.
  • What if it does not fully recover?

Remove all packaging and leave it in a warm, ventilated room for the stated time. If it remains uneven, send us photos and a short video.
  • Does it require assembly?

Some do. Many foam-based models need little or no assembly, while modular or legged designs may require a few simple steps.
  • Will it fit through narrow doors or elevators?

The compact carton makes access easier. Check its dimensions against the narrowest door, hallway, stair turn and elevator before ordering.

Tell us your room size, seating needs, preferred feel, fabric and delivery access. We will help narrow the options.

Customisation, OEM and private label

  • Do you offer OEM and ODM?

Yes. We work with retailers, distributors, importers and furniture brands on OEM, ODM and private-label projects.
  • What can be customised?

Fabric, colour, dimensions, firmness, labels, branding and packaging may be adjusted. Structural changes require a technical review.
  • Can you manufacture my design?

Yes, if it is suitable for production and compression. Send drawings, dimensions, materials, reference images and the intended quantity.
  • Can you add my brand?

Yes. Branding can be applied to labels, instructions, cartons and other packaging elements, depending on the project.
  • Can I order a sample?

Yes. Sample price, production time and shipping are quoted separately. Any credit toward a later bulk order will be confirmed before payment.

Wholesale, packing and export

  • What is the MOQ?

Most wholesale orders start at 20 pieces per model. Some models or custom projects require 30.
  • Can I mix models or colours?

Colours can often be mixed. Combining models depends on their individual MOQs and production requirements.
  • How long does production take?

Standard bulk production usually takes around 25–30 days after all order details are confirmed. Custom projects may take longer.
  • Do you support international orders?

Yes. We normally quote FOB first. CIF, DDP and other arrangements can be assessed once the destination and order details are confirmed.
  • How many sofas fit in a 40HQ container?

There is no fixed number. It depends on the selected models and their packed dimensions. We calculate the loading plan for each order.
  • Does compression reduce shipping costs?

It reduces the space used by each sofa, allowing more units per shipment. The actual saving depends on the model, route and order volume.
  • What do you need for a quotation?

Send the model, quantity, fabric or colour, destination, and whether you need a sample or bulk order. Add drawings and branding requirements for custom work.
